Y GOALS (Gain opportunities and life skills)

Literacy and Numeracy Programme

Literacy and Numeracy Programme

Improve your reading, writing & maths

Goals is designed to build essential literacy and numeracy skills. It aims to equip learners with the tools they need to grab opportunities in education, employment and life. As learners progress through the programme, it not only builds literacy and numeracy skills, but develops digital literacy and the foundational skills needed to “learn how to learn”.

This programme is designed for youth who would like to improve their literacy and or numeracy skills.

Y Education uses the Literacy and Numeracy for Adults National Assessment Tool to help us understand your literacy and numeracy needs and eligibility for the programme.

Learners will develop:

  • Self awareness
  • Goal setting
  • Staying motivated
  • Managing time
  • Reflecting on progress
  • Knowing when and how to seek help.

Learners will also grow in their ability to:

Take ownership of their learning journey

Collaborate

Communicate

Think critically

Build confidence to ask questions and

take ownership of their learning journey
