The Opportunity:

DRIVING INSTRUCTOR, full or part-time, based in Christchurch.

We deliver driver licence support and driving instruction in Oamaru, Timaru, Ashburton and Christchurch. As part of our desire to grow this area of mahi and meet existing and future demand, we are looking to recruit a new Driving Instructor for our Y-Drive Driving School service in Christchurch.

If you hold a current Full Class 1 Driver Licence and a current Instructor’s (“I”) endorsement, we are keen to hear from you. You must currently be a qualified Class 1 driving instructor to apply for this position.

This position, ideally suits a person who is passionate about providing a “hand-up” to who need support to gain the necessary practical driver licence knowledge and skills to achieve their restricted and/or full driver’s licence.

• are a qualified Class 1 driving instructor and hold a current full New Zealand driver licence.

• are confident, resourceful, optimistic, and ready to meet any challenge
• are highly organised, with strong computer skills
• have common sense, resiliency, empathy, a sense of humour and ability to use initiative
• have a commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and apply tikanga in relevant work settings
• can uphold the core values of the Y: Honesty, Caring, Responsibility and Respect
