Support for the transition from primary to secondary school
Programme Overview
Level Up provides support for students (and their whānau if required) making the transition from primary to secondary school. This programme is delivered through facilitated content to year 8 students, support through school visits and orientation days, and follow up for two terms in the year 9 (group and individual).
Core topics include:
- Speaking up and confidence – managing nerves
- Finding your people – friendships and belonging
- Finding your way – school structures and timetables
- Schoolwork and organisation – workloads, bus schedules
- Feeling safe and supported – Hauora and where to go for help
- Ready, set, go – putting it all together, building confidence

Year 8 and Year 9 students and their Whānau
Delivery Audience
In schools in groups sizes 10-25, and on 1-1 basis in year 9 (as required).
